Liz Hamblin

It was a treat to welcome Felicity Devey, granddaughter of one of our members, who attended the Tokyo Paralympics on behalf of GB Sport.

Having a sports science background she specialises in dietary requirements for performance and elite athletes. She gave us a fascinating insight to what was required, and the difficulties of sourcing the required provisions while being confined, due to Covid, to the GB training camp based at Keio University in Yokohama.  The GB team was based in three different places and she was responsible planning the meals, with the Japanese chefs, for all the participants. She also showed us a video of some of the athletes in training which was very interesting to see. A splendid talk and much enjoyed by all.

We were delighted to welcome District Chairman Pam Brewster who introduced herself to the members and a gave us a potted life history.  She leads a very busy life and we all enjoyed hearing about her various interests in addition to her Inner Wheel duties. President Liz Hamblin is pictured (left) presenting her with a cheque for her charity fund.

We were all delighted

to see Jean, a long-standing member and former Webmaster, receive one of the new District 20 awards at our recent District Rally.  She is photographed being presented with the award by Association President Betty Roberts
